Painted on site in Toowoomba, which meant racing the light and the weather in equal measure — plein air always turns into a negotiation with whatever the sky decides to do that afternoon.
The sausage: Oil and acrylic, painted directly from the landscape rather than from a photo, which shows in how much the color shifted while the paint was still wet.
